Hypersonic Wakes

Hypersonic Wakes is a fluid dynamic phenomenon characterized by the highly rarefied, turbulent flow structures and thermal nonequilibrium effects that form downstream of a body traveling at hypersonic speeds, distinguishing it from subsonic or supersonic wakes through shock layer expansion, intense viscous interactions, and chemical dissociation in the trailing flow field.
