Gridded Ion Thrusters

Gridded Ion Thruster is a type of electrostatic propulsion device that generates thrust by accelerating ions through a pair of or more precisely aligned electrode grids, where the applied electric field between the grids selectively accelerates ionized propellant to produce highly efficient, low-thrust propulsion in space applications.
