Gravity Wave is a type of atmospheric wave in which the restoring force is buoyancy, arising from vertical displacements of air parcels in a stably stratified fluid, and which propagates energy and momentum through oscillations in pressure, temperature, and wind fields on mesoscale and larger spatial scales.
