Fuel Densification

Fuel Densification is a material behavior phenomenon in nuclear fuel materials characterized by the reduction in porosity and increase in density of the fuel matrix under thermal and irradiation conditions, distinguishing it from other microstructural evolution processes by its direct impact on volumetric stability and fission product accommodation.
