Free-surface Effect Analysis

Free-Surface Effect Analysis is a methodological framework within naval architecture and maritime safety engineering that, as part of Capsize Analysis and Inclining Experiment procedures, quantifies the reduction in a vessel's effective metacentric height due to the movement of unbounded liquid surfaces within partially filled tanks, thereby assessing its destabilizing influence on initial stability.
