Fractional Anisotropy
Fractional Anisotropy is a scalar metric derived from diffusion tensor imaging that quantifies the degree of directional preference of water diffusion in biological tissues, distinguishing itself from other diffusion metrics by normalizing the variance of eigenvalues to range between zero (isotropic diffusion) and one (fully anisotropic diffusion).
