First-order Effect Compartment Models
First-Order Effect Compartment Models is a pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling framework that extends classical compartmental models by incorporating an effect compartment linked through first-order kinetics to the central compartment, thereby accounting for delayed drug effects by assuming the rate of change in effect site concentration is proportional to the concentration gradient between the central and effect compartments.
