Environmental Luck

Environmental Luck is a type of epistemic luck in which a true belief is formed reliably in one's immediate environment but remains subject to fortunate external circumstances that could have easily resulted in error, thereby distinguishing it from other forms of epistemic luck by its dependence on the fortuitousness of surrounding conditions rather than internal cognitive processes or global modal facts.
