Cranial Ossification

Cranial Ossification is a biological process in which the bones of the skull form through the transformation of mesenchymal tissue or cartilage into bone via intramembranous or endochondral ossification mechanisms, distinguishing it from other skeletal ossification processes by its specific spatiotemporal patterns and embryological origins within the cranial vault and base.
