Conjugative Transposons

Conjugative Transposon is a type of mobile genetic element that belongs to the broader class of transposable elements and is distinguished by its ability to excise from the host genome, transfer via cell-to-cell conjugation mediated by self-encoded machinery, and integrate into a recipient genome, thereby facilitating horizontal gene transfer.
