Complement-mediated Activation

Complement-Mediated Activation is a biological mechanism within the mast cell activation cascade wherein mast cells are activated through the engagement of complement system components, particularly anaphylatoxins such as C3a and C5a binding to their respective receptors on mast cell surfaces, distinguishing it from other activation pathways that rely on immunoglobulin E or direct pathogen recognition.
