Community arts is an interdisciplinary field of research and practice that investigates the processes, outcomes, and theoretical underpinnings of arts-based activities undertaken collaboratively with or within specific communities. This concept examines participatory artistic co-creation, its contextual responsiveness, and its capacity to foster social change, empower participants, build community capacity, and generate alternative forms of knowledge and cultural expression beyond purely aesthetic concerns.
