College Transition

College Transition is a theoretical construct within the study of African American educational attainment that specifies the sociocultural and institutional processes through which Black students navigate the shift from secondary education to postsecondary academic environments, distinguishing it from broader educational progression models by emphasizing identity negotiation, systemic barriers, and contextual support mechanisms unique to their experiences.
