Code Acquisition

Code Acquisition is a synchronization procedure in spread spectrum communication systems that identifies and aligns the receiver's local pseudorandom noise code with the transmitted signal's code in both phase and timing, distinguishing it from other synchronization processes by its specific focus on the initial detection and coarse alignment of the spreading code.
