Clinical epigenetics is an academic field and methodological approach that investigates the role of epigenetic modifications – heritable changes in gene expression that do not involve alterations to the DNA sequence – in human health and disease. This research aims to understand disease pathogenesis, identify diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, and develop novel epigenetic therapies.
