Clathrin-mediated Attachment

Clathrin-Mediated Attachment is a viral entry mechanism in which enveloped or non-enveloped viruses selectively bind to host cell surface receptors and are internalized via clathrin-coated pits, a specialized form of receptor-mediated endocytosis that distinguishes it from other viral attachment and entry pathways by its dependence on clathrin protein assembly and dynamin-mediated membrane scission.
