Citizenship Restriction

Citizenship Restriction is a theoretical construct within Latino Citizenship Studies that denotes the systemic legal, social, and political mechanisms that limit or condition the full exercise of citizen rights for Latino populations in the United States, distinguishing it from broader forms of exclusion by focusing specifically on the stratification and instrumentalization of citizenship status along ethnoracial and immigration lines.
