Cinematic Suture
Cinematic Suture is a theoretical construct in structuralist film theory that designates the narrative and visual mechanism through which the viewer’s subjectivity is interpolated into the filmic discourse via the concealment of its inherent discontinuities, particularly through the dialectical relation of shots to mask the absence of the camera and maintain ideological coherence.
