Cap Hypermethylation

Cap Hypermethylation is a post-transcriptional RNA modification process in which additional methyl groups are enzymatically added to the 5′ cap structure of eukaryotic mRNA beyond the standard m⁷G cap, resulting in cap structures with multiple methylations on the ribose sugars of the first and sometimes second transcribed nucleotides.
