Butanediol Fermentation

Butanediol Fermentation is a metabolic pathway in which certain bacteria anaerobically convert pyruvate into 2,3-butanediol as the primary end product, distinguished from other fermentation processes by its specific reductive route and the production of neutral fermentation products alongside carbon dioxide and hydrogen gas.
