The Bulmer Effect is a population genetic phenomenon, belonging to the class of effects in quantitative genetics, characterized by the reduction in genetic variance due to selection-induced correlations between alleles at linked loci, distinct from other sources of variance change by arising specifically from the interference of selection with recombination.
