Bioirrigation Structures

Bioirrigation Structures is a biogenic sedimentary construct formed by the physical and hydrological modification of sediments through the burrowing and ventilation activities of benthic organisms, distinguishing it from other bioturbation structures by its role in facilitating advective and diffusive fluid exchange between overlying water and subsurface sediments.
