Bifacial Reduction

Bifacial Reduction is a lithic reduction technique in stone tool production where a core or preform is flaked alternately on both faces to produce a bifacially worked artifact with a refined edge, distinguished from unifacial or random flaking methods by its systematic, controlled removal of flakes from opposite sides to achieve symmetry and thinness.
