Base Pair Geometry

Base Pair Geometry is a structural bioinformatics construct that specifies the spatial arrangement and orientational parameters of paired nucleotide bases in nucleic acids, distinguishing it from other base pairing descriptors by quantitatively characterizing the relative position and orientation of the two bases through parameters such as shear, stretch, stagger, propeller, buckle, and opening.
