Absolutely Continuous Spectrum

The Absolutely Continuous Spectrum is a component of the spectrum of a linear operator in functional analysis that corresponds to spectral measures absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure, distinguished from the pure point and singular continuous spectra by its association with wave-like, extended eigenfunctions and the applicability of the spectral theorem via density of states.
