The nomenclature of Monroy and Pullman (4) and Racker (1, 2) Is used where Coupling Factor I of mitochondria is referred to as ATPase in connection with ATP hydrolysis and F, in connection with ATP synthesis.Purified, soluble ATPase is denoted F, ATPase (2,5).
