Transforming Organizations: Methods for Accelerating Culture Change Processes

Abstract

An approach is outlined for successful transformation of organizations.i¾ i¾ This approach builds on the premise that when efforts to implement change fail, a common cause is insufficient attention to the people side of change.i¾ i¾ The concept of people change levers is introduced and discussed.i¾ i¾ One of these levers, culture, is discussed in depth and a business case is used to illustrate the importance of understanding how work cultures shape individual and group behaviors.i¾ i¾ A five-phase process to achieve change is introduced.
