Fishery resources of the Indian Economic Zone

Abstract

The present marine fish production
\nin India is ahout 1.5 million tonnes
\nof which the lion's share is from the
\nnearshore waters, wi tbin less than 50 m
\ndepth and probably from an area of
\nabout 100,000 sq km which is only 25%
\nof the area of the continental shelf
\nand 5% that of the economic zone.
