Research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in logistics was initiated in 1990, and since then, many applications of AI in logistics have been investigated. The current inquiry concentrates on analyzing already published material approved for the application of AI in the logistics sector. The outcomes of the current investigation, using bibliometric analysis, show increasing interest in this field of study. The digital Scopus search yielded 361 publications. The majority of the articles that appeared are from conference and journal publications. China has the maximum number of publications, whereas the USA has more impact (in terms of citations). Most of the research is multi-authored with a value of standard collaboration index of 3.43 authors for each article. Further, the present investigation demonstrates the progression of academic effort linked to the implementation of AI in logistics, identifies the scope of currently ongoing studies, and recommends possibilities for future endeavors.
