Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the interactions and coordination between culture, ecology, and tourism. Using the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Anhui (JZSA1) region of China as the study area, we constructed an eco-cultural tourism system evaluation index system, calculated the coupling and coordination degree (CCD2) of the eco-cultural tourism system using the coupled coordination model, and identified the influencing factors using the obstacle degree model. The findings show that the CCD of the JZSA region continuously improved from 2009 to 2019 and reached an intermediate coordination level in 2019. However, there was still an obvious regional divergence effect. Culture and ecology are significant obstacles to the CCD of eco-cultural tourism systems. From the perspective of the development and evolution of influencing factors, ecological and tourism factors have increasingly negative effects. Therefore, ecological and tourism development should be considered in the future.
