The feasibility of high-LET-dose based evaluation was shown in this study where a lower <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:semantics><mml:msub><mml:mi>D</mml:mi> <mml:mrow><mml:mo>></mml:mo> <mml:msub><mml:mi>L</mml:mi> <mml:mi>thr</mml:mi></mml:msub> </mml:mrow> </mml:msub> <mml:annotation>$\textrm {D}_{>\textrm {L}_{\textrm {thr}}}$</mml:annotation></mml:semantics> </mml:math> was found in cTPs with a large tumor size. Further investigation is needed to draw clinical conclusions. The proposed methodology in this work can be utilized for future high-LET-dose based studies.
