Ausgedehntes π-System: Eine Nickel(0)-vermittelte Reaktion liefert Dinaphthopentalenderivate, deren elektronische und elektrochemische Eigenschaften vom Bindungsmuster abhängen. Für ein amorphes Material wurden sehr hohe Lochbeweglichkeiten beobachtet, und die Verbindungen können in organischen Solarzellen mit Heteroübergang (siehe Bild) verwendet werden.
