Fluoreszenzsensor für Thiole: Das Entschützen von nichtfluoreszierendem 1 durch Thiole (R′SH) verläuft in wässriger Lösung (pH 7.4) rasch und liefert nahezu quantitativ stark fluoreszierendes 2. Assays in Gegenwart von 1 sind somit eine schnelle und einfache Methode, um die Inhibierungskonstanten von Inhibitoren wie Donepezil gegenüber Acetyl- und Butyrylcholinesterasen zu bestimmen.
