Abstract

In reply to the enquiry regarding our analysis of the statistically significant difference of pre- and post-clinical placement scores on the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS) measured in our study,1 the theatre study data were subject to further analysis because of the larger number of valid responses. By subtracting the post-test score from the pre-test score, differences in students’ attitudes before and after the interprofessional education (IPE) activity were gauged. The most extreme mean differences were compared using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test for matched pairs, and results were obtained for six questions (Table 1). The differences in Q3, Q4 and Q11 were statistically significant, at the 5% level (Sig. < 0.05), and for Q9 and Q16 the differences were marginally significant (Sig. < 0.1). The health centre study had fewer subjects and was not subject to further analysis.
