A 20-channel microelectrode array used to sense meural signals will be described. An implantable device, it incorporates on-chip signal processing, self-testing, and consumes 5mW from a single 5V supply. The chip, with a 1.3mm <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</sup> area, has 6μm features.
