Dendrimeric silanes

Abstract

Silane dendrimers have potential for applications such as stable micelles, building blocks for nanotechnology, X‐ray beam scattering and cores for star‐branched polymers. The Figure shows a first generation silane dendrimer in which the unsaturated terminal groups (the starting points for the production of the second generation) can be seen. The synthesis and properties of these species are discussed. magnified image
