Past, present and future of surgical robotics

Abstract

The last 20 years have seen a paradigm shift in minimally invasive surgery with the advent and uptake of robotic surgery. This review explores the past, present and future of robotic surgery, providing an overview of novel robotic systems soon to be available for clinical use.
