The effect of different parameters on sorption of methyl violet, basic fuchsin and their mixture in an aqueous solution was studied. Dead biomass of Aspergillus niger was observed to be an efficient biosorbent, Maximum sorption was seen within 10 min. The sorption was independent of dye concentration and pH, The interaction of pH, dye concentration and biosarbent concentration showed variable results. The desorption profile showed that 0.1 M HCl was a better eluant than 50% ethanol.
