Abstract The influence of tool dynamics on the chip formation process during vibratory drilling is analyzed. Regenerative effects and external excitation influences are considered. The mathematical models presented accounts for hole bottom surface formation and the possibility of intermittent cutting. Various technological system configurations are analytically and numerically analyzed.
