Light-controlled interconversion between a [<i>c</i>2]daisy chain and a lasso-type pseudo[1]rotaxane

Abstract

A light-responsive self-complementary crown ether/ammonium conjugate bearing an arylazopyrazole photoswitch as a spacer can be switched between a [<i>c</i>2]daisy chain (<i>E</i>-isomer) and a lasso-type pseudo[1]rotaxane (<i>Z</i>-isomer) by light.
