Our data suggest that CD8<sup>+</sup> T<sub>RM</sub> cells play a critical role in the pathogenesis of AIH, and GCs attenuate hepatic inflammation through direct inhibition of CD8<sup>+</sup> T<sub>RM</sub> cell expansion.
