Defect-formation induced by electron transitions in solid argon

Abstract

Results on the first spectroscopic observations of defect formation induced by the excitation of the electronic subsystem are presented. Evidence of charged and neutral defect formation is obtained. A combination of luminescence and thermal activation spectroscopic techniques is used.
