An application of sound processing techniques for determining condition of cows

Abstract

Many farmers claim to be able to draw conclusions about the state of their animal by their vocalization. With regard to practical application recordings were made in ordinary surroundings with and processed using common sound cards and computers. The paper presents an application of digital signal processing techniques for identification of individual cows and evaluation of their conditions.
