Real time facial expression recognition and predicting the underlying human emotion has been an active field of research in the domain of Affective Computing. Humans' urge to make human machine interaction a coexistence will be possible only if a machine can understand, exhibit and act according to the emotional state of a human being. An AI can truly breathe life without taking in oxygen if it make decisions based on emotional rather than mere logic and algorithms. Many attempts have been made till date to achieve such a feat but alas we guess we are still in the development phase. A Real time facial expression recognition and predicting the underlying human emotion has been an active field of research in the domain of Affective Computing. In this paper a model in python is presented which can be trained to recognise the expressions through supervised learning and can predict the state of emotion a person is going through by taking real time input of the person with the help of a webcam.
