Optically pumped Cs magnetometers enabling a high-sensitivity search for the neutron electric dipole moment

Abstract

Details on the neutron electric dipole moment (nEDM) experiment conducted at the Paul Scherrer Institute using an array of sixteen laser-pumped scalar cesium magnetometers are presented. An improvement of 35% of the statistical nEDM sensitivity is reported.
