Abstract An efficient and simple protocol for Selectfluor‐mediated phosphonation of quinoxalin‐2(1 H )‐ones with dialkyl H ‐phosphonates has been developed under base and transition‐metal free conditions, affording the desired 3‐phosphorylated quinoxalin‐2(1 H )‐ones in good to excellent yields. This method has the advatages of broad substrate scope, general functional groups compatibility, and mild reaction conditions.
