Abstract

This is a report on the findings of the 2016 National Aged Care Workforce Census and Survey (NACWCS) conducted by the National Institute of Labour Studies, on behalf of the Department of Health. It is the fourth report in the series (previous reports were in 2003, 2007, and 2012 [report indexed in VOCEDplus at TD/TNC 111.1075]. The 2016 report contains information about the size and composition of the workforce, training and education, the characteristics of aged care workers and the organisations in which they work, experiences of working in the sector, and factors related to staff recruitment and retention.
