Abstract

Abstract Electron-rich aryl chlorides such as chloroanisole, chloroaniline, and chlorotoluene were dechlorinated by Grignard reagents in the presence of a catalytic amount of iron chlorides. This is in sharp contrast to the cross-coupling reactions of electron-poor aryl chlorides with Grignard reagents.
