To mitigate the large vibration and noise problems and maintain the torque performance of the fractional slot concentrated winding interior permanent magnet motor (FSCW-IPM). Several stator/rotor auxiliary slot types of motor are proposed in this paper. The influences of the stator/rotor auxiliary slot on the cogging torque and the low-order radial electromagnetic force are researched by the 2D finite element method, which are the main reasons for the electromagnetic vibration and acoustic noise of permanent magnet motor. The cogging torque, torque magnitude, torque ripple and low-order radial electromagnetic force are used as the optimization criteria of the auxiliary slot types. Eventually, the optimal auxiliary slot structure is proposed through the comparison of various auxiliary slots, which can inhibit the electromagnetic vibration and improve the torque performance.
