Geometrically asymmetric optical cavity for strong atom-photon coupling

Abstract

Achieving strong coupling between a single photon and a single atom typically means compromising optical access or mechanical stability. Here, a smart design that overcomes the problem is proposed and tested, showing promising results for the generation of entangled atomic states for precision measurements.
